Meet Dr. Hayes
Dr. Hayes’ approach to treatment is shaped by his training as a US Army Physical Therapy specialist and his years in home care physical therapy. A proud honors graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic, he feels he has a unique and effective “integrative” method towards treatment.
“Over the years I have noticed that soft tissue care, along with chiropractic manipulation offers a more effective and quicker outcome. I was attracted to the Graston technique, specifically because of the impressive outcomes in treating carpal tunnel, sports and shoulder injuries. After becoming certified in Graston instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, I have been amazed at the number of conditions for which it is effective. We must always remember that each person is, of course, an individual and each aspect of that person must be treated.”

After one year in practice, Dr. Hayes was certified in the Cox Technique of spinal decompression for the treatment of lumbar, thoracic and cervical disc herniations and is Portland’s only Cox certified doctor. The Cox technique is effective for many spinal conditions, specifically cervical and lumbar herniated discs, however, its gentle technique is also welcomed by patients who are worried about a “cracking” type adjustment.
In 2003, Dr. Hayes graduated from The Spine Research Institute of San Diego’s Whiplash and Brain Traumatology course, and received his Advanced degree in 2004.
“With a combination of Cox technique and Graston soft tissue mobilization this allows me to treat whiplash and injuries suffered in a car accident with what I believe to be the most effective techniques”.
